What do you think - outfit help!

I'm going to a wedding this summer and trying to create an outfit. I need a festive outfit that isn't too formal but still appropriate. I think this dress is dressy enough for the occasion but still casual enough I could wear it with flats for other parties and get-togethers. I will have a 3 year old with me (daddy isn't likely to come as we have to travel) so comfort is important (and sleeves! I wore a strapless dress last year to a wedding and that was not smart with a small child!). I am now trying to figure out if I want to go with gold accessories and a slightly more "fun" feel or if I want to go with silver accessories and maybe a more "sophisticated feel". I have similar gold earrings, silver earrings and silver heels so all of these pictured are not exact but close.
Let me know what you think, what you like, what you don't like or any suggestions for other pieces!
Thanks to all!

I prefer the silver accessories and shoe; it looks more put together. The gold with the wedges looks more "day out shopping"; it's too casual. Although I like the dress, I think the dress is to dark for a summer wedding; maybe 2-3 shades lighter.

If it is a summer wedding, will you be sinking into the ground with heels? maybe the wedges might be a better fit. I think the silver accessories dress it up more for a wedding, but it still feels a bit too casual (is the dress above satin? I can't tell).

J.Crew has some great beach dresses in fun colors-not sure what the wedding calls for.

I have a baby shower (I'm one of the hostesses) in mid-May and this is an evening wedding (still not formal though) in August - I thought I could use this dress for both occasions (dressing it up more for the wedding). I thought the darker color might lend itself to a slightly dressier feel since the material is cotton voile. I believe another Sugar is using this same dress for a wedding she's going to but in a red (which I'm just not comfy wearing). I think the wedding and reception will be indoors or at least not on grass so sinking heels shouldn't be an issue.

anned: I actually have the J.Crew strapless beach dress which I love but it's in black and as I said above, I've learned my lesson regarding small children and strapless dresses! And I tried on the halter beach dress last year, it did not look pretty on me!

It looks as though consensus says that even though this dress is cute, it might be too dark for a summer wedding...heavy sigh...back to looking...

Thanks all for your help!

I agree with Anned that the dress, although VERY cute (I actually think I have this dress bookmarked!!), seems a little too casual for an evening wedding. Even if it's not a super-formal wedding. It looks more like a daytime sundress. It would be PERFECT for the baby shower that you mentioned above!

But for the wedding, I'd keep looking for something a little dressier and in a lighter color like some of the others suggested.

And before choosing a shoe, take into consideration whether you'll have to be outside on the grass at all (not sure if they're getting married outside). Like Anned said, you could sink into the grass wearing heels. I had that problem at my own wedding last August! It was terrible.

I love that gold butterfly bracelet BTW! So cute.

Love the accessories but I would obvi do something more lighter. I suggested a floral dress with an Art Deco flare and picked some shoes to go with. This dress can also be dressed down with a pair of gladiator sandals for your baby shower. I would def stay in the Art Deco feel for my accessories. The shoes you can either go for a wedge or a wooden heel but try to keep it Deco, these shoes here are just Fab.
